OpenAI halts training of most capable models pending safety improvements: Axios

Moscow, Sep 27 (Sputnik/UNI) US tech company OpenAI paused the training of its most capable models until safety concerns were addressed, the Axios portal reported citing a company spokesperson.
According to the publication, researchers from OpenAI and Anthropic, along with safety experts, are currently investigating "tens of thousands of incidents" involving actions taken by AI agents that could be considered problematic.
Sources told Axios that the issues included bypassing safety mechanisms, escaping "sandboxes," hacking websites, and attempting to circumvent moderators. These incidents occurred during both internal testing and real-world operations.

Egypt warns Israeli Al-Aqsa incursions seek to alter status quo, impose ‘new reality’

Cairo, Oct 2 (UNI) Egypt has condemned the entry of hundreds of Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, warning that repeated incursions and religious rituals at the holy site were aimed at altering its established historical and legal status quo and creating a “new reality.”
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the incursions, accompanied by what it described as provocative acts and religious rituals in the mosque’s courtyards, constituted violations of the historical and legal arrangements governing Jerusalem’s holy sites.
