"Anyone who aligns with this ideology and wishes to walk with us on this path is welcome in the party. Hence, the issue of a merger simply does not arise. No proposal for merger, nor anything under consideration: NCP-AP's Sunil Tatkare

Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-AP) State President and Member of Parliament Sunil Tatkare clarified that no proposal has come regarding a merger in the party, nor is such a proposal under consideration. “We are a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and will continue to remain in it."
"Anyone who aligns with this ideology and wishes to walk with us on this path is welcome in the party. Hence, the issue of a merger simply does not arise. There’s no such proposal, and no such discussion is taking place at our level. So, what is the point in commenting on something that doesn’t exist?” he said during a press conference on Thursday.
Tatkare further stated, “There hasn’t even been a basic idea or discussion regarding a merger.
Therefore, there’s no question of being in favour, against, or neutral about it. Since there’s no proposal, the question of a merger doesn’t arise. We are currently with our original ideology within the NDA, and our political journey will continue under the leadership of the country’s strong Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. There’s no reason for any change in that," he added.
Earlier in May, NCP(SP) chief Sharad Pawar had acknowledged internal divisions within his party over questions of reuniting with the Ajit Pawar faction.
