Maha Animal Husbandry Dept to observe 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar

Mumbai, May 30 (UNI) Maharashtra Animal Husbandry Minister Pankaja Munde said on Friday that various programmes will be organised across the state on May 31 on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar as it is necessary to effectively convey her work, thoughts and inspiring life story to the masses.
Ahilyadevi is a bright, accomplished and far-sighted symbol of female power in Indian history. She built ideal governance through religious tolerance, social welfare, public works, justice-based administration and women's education. Her work is a symbol of social service, piety and efficient administration, and she has always been a guide for the progressive and uplifting journey of the state of Maharashtra, said Pankaja.
Accordingly, on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar’, Minister Pankaja has given instructions to implement activities such as cleaning and beautifying the office/dispensary premises in the subordinate institutions through the Animal Husbandry Department, organising infertility/all-round treatment camps at the village level, meeting the pastoralists and providing them with technical guidance, pre-monsoon vaccination of the shepherds’ goats and sheep, deworming of livestock, eradication of gochid, taking measures to reduce the mortality of goats/lambs, organising camps/seminars to provide technical guidance to the shepherds, planting trees.
