The final dividend, paid on September 23, represents 35 per cent of the company's paid-up equity share capital. It is in addition to the first and second interim dividends of Rs 2,666.58 crore each, which were paid in November 2025 and February 2026, respectively.
With the latest payout, NTPC has paid a total dividend of Rs 9 per equity share of face value Rs 10 each for FY 2025-26.
The latest payout also marks the 33rd consecutive year in which NTPC has paid a dividend, reflecting its continued record of distributing returns to shareholders.
NTPC is India's largest integrated power utility, with an installed capacity of more than 91 GW. The company currently has more than 35 GW of additional capacity under construction as it expands its generation portfolio to meet the country's growing power requirements.
The company has set a target of reaching a total capacity of 149 GW by 2032, including 60 GW from renewable energy sources.
Its planned capacity expansion comprises a mix of thermal, hydro, solar and wind power projects, to maintain a diversified generation portfolio while supplying reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity.
Beyond conventional power generation, NTPC has also been expanding into emerging energy and technology-related businesses. These include e-mobility, energy storage, waste-to-energy, nuclear power and green hydrogen solutions.
The company's diversification into these areas is part of its broader strategy to expand its presence across different segments of the evolving energy sector while continuing to strengthen its core power generation business. UNI SAS AAB
