Odisha CM suspends three Jajpur Polytechnic faculty members over alleged indiscipline

Bhubaneswar, Oct 28 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has ordered the suspension of three faculty members of Jajpur Government Polytechnic following allegations of indiscipline, including heated arguments and physical altercations during a meeting.
The suspended faculty members have been identified as senior lecturer Nrusinha Charan Behera, lecturer Sandeep Mahapatra and lecturer P. Aradhana.
According to the allegations, the three faculty members were involved in heated exchanges, physical altercations and other acts of misconduct during a meeting held on October 26, followed by subsequent incidents.
The alleged misconduct reportedly occurred in the presence of students, raising concerns over discipline and the academic atmosphere on the campus. The incident has also adversely affected the reputation of the institution, an official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office(CMO) said.
Taking serious note of the matter, Chief Minister Majhi directed the suspension of the three faculty members and ordered disciplinary proceedings against them.
The action follows allegations of conduct unbecoming of members of the teaching profession, which is expected to uphold discipline, professional ethics and responsible behaviour within educational institutions.
The incident has brought the issue of maintaining discipline and professional standards in technical educational institutions into focus. Further action against the suspended faculty members will depend on the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings.
