Odisha’s rich history will inspire a new mindset among Youth: Suraj

Bhubaneswar, June 3 (UNI) Odisha’s rich history will inspire and guide the youth towards developing a new mindset, said Odia Language, Literature and Culture Minister Suryavanshi Suraj.

Speaking at a workshop on the history of the Kalinga War, organized by the Odisha Sahitya Akademi here on Tuesday, Suraj said that the outcomes of the workshop will be compiled into a document to help future generations understand their history and encourage them to take pride in it.

He emphasized that in the coming days, the youth will play a pivotal role in building a developed Odisha and a developed India, creating a unique identity for themselves as proud descendants of Kalinga.

The workshop not only shed light on the history of the Kalinga War but also discussed Odisha’s maritime history, the history of the Odisha Navy, and various Buddhist legends.

Special sessions were organized under the titles: “Social, Political, Economic and Military Status of Kalinga Rajya Sabha Before the Kalinga War,” “Status of Kalinga Rajya Sabha During the Kalinga War Period,” and “Status of Kalinga After the Kalinga War.”

Eminent literary figures, orators, columnists, and history experts were felicitated on the occasion.
