New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said Operation Sindoor is not just a military mission but also reflects India's unwavering resolve, courage and the spirit of a nation in transformation.
Speaking during the 122nd episode of his monthly radio address, Mann ki Baat, the Prime Minister said, Operation Sindoor has united the nation in its stand against terrorism and infused the entire country with a renewed sense of patriotism.
“Today, the whole country is united against terrorism, filled with anger and resolve. Every Indian holds the same determination — that terrorism must be eradicated,” he said.
Lauding the valour and precision of the Indian Armed Forces, Modi said, “The precision and accuracy with which our forces destroyed the terrorist hideouts across the border is amazing.”
He emphasised that the success of the mission has boosted global confidence in India’s fight against terrorism.
Highlighting the role of indigenous technology and equipment in the operation, the Prime Minister said the mission showcased the power of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
“This victory bears the imprint of our engineers, technicians, and the strength of Indian-made weapons and systems,” he said.
Modi further added that the campaign has sparked a new wave of enthusiasm for the "Vocal for Local" movement. Citing public responses, he shared how citizens are pledging to support Indian products - from choosing Indian-made toys for their children to vacationing and celebrating weddings within the country.
Modi said, “A parent remarked. We will now buy toys only made in India for our children. Patriotism will start from childhood. Some families have taken a pledge that we will spend our next vacation in some beautiful place in our country".
"Many young persons have taken a pledge to ‘Wed in India’… that they would get married in the country itself. Someone also said, “Now whatever gift we will give, it will be made by an Indian artisan,” the PM said.
“This is the real strength of India — the connection between people and minds. Public participation is our power,” Modi said, urging citizens to prioritise locally made products as a step towards nation-building and economic self-reliance.
“Let us take a pledge — wherever possible in our lives, we will give preference to Indian-made goods. This is not just economic self-reliance; it is our contribution to the country’s progress,” he added. UNI RBE SSP
