Operation Muskan-XI to be conducted across Telangana in July to rescue missing & trafficked children

Hyderabad, June 27 (UNI) Operation Muskan-XI, a month-long national initiative to trace, rescue, and rehabilitate missing, orphaned, and trafficked children, will be conducted across Telangana from July 1 to 31.
The programme is being undertaken under the Ministry of Home Affairs and will be led in Telangana by Additional Director General of Police (Women's Safety) Charu Sinha, who is serving as the nodal officer for the operation.
To ensure smooth and effective implementation of the initiative, 121 Sub-Divisional Police Teams comprising 706 police personnel have been constituted. These teams will work in close coordination with various government departments and agencies, including the Women Development and Child Welfare Department, Labour Department, Health Department, District Child Welfare Units, Child Welfare Committees, and several non-governmental organisations.
A state-level online convergence meeting was held on Friday at the CID Conference Hall in Hyderabad, chaired by Additional DGP Charu Sinha. The meeting aimed to finalise coordination mechanisms and operational strategies for the upcoming drive.

Representatives from the Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Telangana Legal Services Authority, Labour and Education Departments, Public Health and Family Welfare Department, Children’s Homes, Special Juvenile Police Units, Anti-Human Trafficking Units, and NGOs such as Divya Disha, My Choices Foundation, and the International Justice Mission participated in the meeting.
Key issues discussed included strategies for combating child labour and child begging, enhancing inter-agency coordination, standardising rescue and rehabilitation protocols, managing legal processes, and improving data sharing and tracking mechanisms.
Operation Muskan-XI aims to not only rescue vulnerable children from exploitation but also to ensure their proper rehabilitation and reintegration into society. Telangana Police, in collaboration with child protection agencies and civil society organisations, will be carrying out field operations and follow-up action throughout the month of July to ensure the success of this crucial initiative, a statement from DGP office said.
