Opposition leaders need medicine like 'Jamalgota': Eknath Shinde

Kolhapur, Sep 19 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday took a jibe at opposition leaders, saying they develop a "stomach ache" whenever he visits his native village, Delhi or London, and quipped that they may need a medicine like "Jamalgota" for it.
Shinde arrived in Daregaon village in Satara district directly from Ahmedabad after meeting union Home Minister Amit Shah. He is scheduled to stay in the village for two days to participate in the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Speaking to reporters on Friday night, Shinde said he does not respond to allegations through verbal exchanges or counter-attacks, and instead prefers to let his work and performance speak for themselves.
On crop conditions and dry spells affecting parts of Maharashtra, Shinde said the government stands firmly with farmers. He added that he has directed officials to immediately conduct damage assessments, or panchanamas, in the affected areas.
