Our party stands for non-violence and social justice: Telangana Dy CM

Hyderabad, Apr 25 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday said the Congress stands for non-violence, social justice and inclusive growth, and called on the people from the state and elsewhere in the country to join hands for global justice.
"Our party stands for non-violence, social justice and inclusive growth. We are taking this message to the whole world apart from the country," Bhatti said at a press conference on the sidelines of the ongoing Bharat Summit along with Senior AICC leader Salman Khurshid and other Congress leaders.
"We call on all the people in the state and the country to stand for global justice in a peaceful manner," he said.
The delegates at the Summit averred that they are hurt by the egregious attack in Pahalgam and volunteered to attend the candle light procession at Tank Bund being taken up in line with a call given by the AICC, he said.
Bhatti said the attendees in the two-day Bharat Summit backed the development and welfare programmes taken up by the Congress government to showcase rising Telangana.
Bhatti informed that they also supported and welcomed the NYAY programme for global justice taken up by Rahul Gandhi.
The idea behind the summit, he said, was to “market the state of Telangana to attract investments, create wealth and take up welfare programmes and generate employment for the youth in the process”.
Dwelling into the past Bhatti reminded that India was in the forefront of giving a foreign policy for the world in the backdrop of the Cold War through non-alignment.
“In the backdrop of a situation where there is economic, social, political churn and war and inequality in all spheres are playing the roost, social justice is the need of the hour, " he said.
Salman Khurshid said the summit is an idea of the Telangana government to boost investments both from within and outside to benefit the people of the state.
“We suggested the government to build up the Telangana shining message which is not simply of development and growth but also putting across the global profile of the state which eventually is the global profile of India,” he said.

“What we have here is a progressive alliance and delegates have come here to discuss progressive liberal values that are cherished by the Congress party as its legacy. I extend deep gratitude to the Telangana government and all distinguished colleagues to ensure this ambition becomes successful," Khurshid added. UNI KNR SSP
