Palwal flyover on Delhi-bound NH to remain closed for three days from midnight for repairs

Palwal, Oct 25 (UNI) The Delhi-bound carriageway of a flyover on the national highway in Palwal will remain completely closed to vehicular traffic for three days from midnight on Sunday to facilitate road strengthening and essential repair work, police said.
The closure will affect vehicles travelling from Hodal and Mathura towards Faridabad and Delhi, with traffic diverted to the service road running alongside the flyover.
A police spokesperson said the restrictions were being imposed on the flyover beginning opposite the Deputy Commissioner's residence and descending near Pappan Plaza in Palwal.
"The flyover will remain completely closed to vehicular movement for three days from midnight due to technical and safety requirements associated with the repair work," the spokesperson said.
Traffic Police Station in-charge Inspector Ravikant said the advisory had been issued under the directions of Superintendent of Police Deepti Garg to ensure public safety and minimise inconvenience to commuters.
Under the diversion plan, vehicles approaching from Hodal and Mathura will be directed to use the service road instead of ascending the flyover near the Deputy Commissioner's residence.
The diverted traffic will continue along the road below the flyover, cross the Pappan Plaza intersection and rejoin the main national highway towards Faridabad and Delhi.
The spokesperson said additional traffic police personnel would be deployed at key intersections, road crossings and diversion points to prevent congestion and regulate vehicle movement during the closure.
Police warned that traffic volume on the service road was likely to increase significantly and advised motorists to maintain safe distances, avoid overtaking and strictly follow lane discipline.
Commuters travelling towards Faridabad and Delhi have been advised to allow additional travel time to account for possible delays.
Motorists have also been cautioned against driving on the wrong side of the road or ignoring instructions issued by traffic personnel.
In case of emergencies or traffic disruptions, commuters can contact the district traffic helpline or dial 112, police said.
