Colombo/New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Colombo on a two-day state visit on Friday evening, and was enthusiastically greeted by the Indian community.
The PM witnessed glimpses of a puppet show highlighting parts of the Sundar Kand.
In posts on X, he said:
“I have arrived in Colombo. I would like to thank all the ministers and other dignitaries who welcomed me at the airport. I look forward to the events I will be participating in in Sri Lanka.”
“The rains were no deterrent for a spectacular welcome by the Indian community in Colombo. I was deeply moved by their warmth and enthusiasm. Grateful to them!”
“During the community welcome, also saw translations of the thoughts of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev, Sri Sri Madhabdev, books on music, Indian stories and parts of the Gita Govinda in Pali. May these cultural bonds thrive forever!
