PM Modi hails Tamil Nadu's industrial prowess and cultural legacy on Statehood Day

New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday, greeted the people of Tamil Nadu on Tamil Nadu Day, praising the state's industrial achievements, technological progress and rich cultural heritage, and highlighting its significant contribution to India's economic growth and civilisational legacy.
In a message posted on social media platform X, Modi described the people of Tamil Nadu as hardworking and enterprising, saying their contributions had strengthened the country's development across several key sectors.
"From manufacturing, automobiles and textiles to electronics, space technology, healthcare and emerging industries, the state has distinguished itself through innovation, skill and industrial excellence," the Prime Minister said.
Emphasising the state's cultural and historical importance, Modi said the people of Tamil Nadu took immense pride in their distinctive cultural identity and traditions. "Tamil culture has enriched our nation's civilisational journey in innumerable ways," he added.
The Prime Minister also wished the people of the state happiness, success and new opportunities, expressing hope that the occasion would bring greater prosperity to every section of society.
Tamil Nadu has established itself as one of India's leading industrial and manufacturing hubs, with significant strengths in automobile and automobile-component manufacturing, textiles, electronics, engineering and healthcare.
Over the years, the state has also expanded its footprint in emerging technology sectors, particularly electronics manufacturing and space-related industries, reinforcing its position in India's industrial and technological landscape.
Beyond its economic achievements, Tamil Nadu occupies a distinctive place in India's cultural and civilisational history. Its Tamil language, classical literary traditions, architecture, temple heritage, performing arts and social reform movements have made enduring contributions to the country's diverse cultural fabric.
The observance of Tamil Nadu Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the state's linguistic, historical and cultural identity as well as its role in shaping India's development journey.
Earlier on Sunday, Modi had also extended greetings to the people of Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on their respective statehood and formation day celebrations, acknowledging their cultural heritage, achievements and contributions to national progress.
