Bhubaneswar, June 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to visit Odisha on June 20 to attend the first anniversary celebrations of the BJP government in the state.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari told reporters here on Saturday that the Prime Minister will participate in the mega event organised by the state government to mark the completion of one year in office.
Earlier, Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra had informed the media that the Prime Minister had given his consent to attend the event, which was initially scheduled to be held at Janata Maidan on June 12.
Pujari said that the one-year anniversary celebration of the BJP government, originally planned for June 12, will now be held on June 20.
“The final schedule for the event will be released soon,” the minister added.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, during his recent visit to Delhi, had invited the Prime Minister to grace the occasion and celebrate the first year of BJP governance in Odisha.
Last year, Modi and several top BJP leaders had attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Majhi government.
Official sources said the celebrations will be held across every district, block, and panchayat. Ministers will visit the districts to highlight the government’s achievements over the past year.
Various cultural programmes will be organised at the district level, and well-decorated vans will travel across all 314 blocks of Odisha to showcase the government’s flagship programmes and accomplishments over the past year.
