PM Modi virtually inaugurates redeveloped all-women-operated Begumpet railway station

Hyderabad, May 22 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday virtually inaugurated the redeveloped Begumpet railway station which is an all-women-operated railway station , along with the Karimnagar and Warangal railway stations in Telangana were also opened to the public, on Thursday.
The Prime Minister inaugurated 103 Amrit stations across the entire Indian Railways network through video conferencing including three railway stations in Telangana, in the function held at Deshnoke railway station of Rajasthan state along with Haribhau Kisanrao Bagade, Governor of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting and other public representatives.
Simultaneously, local functions were held at Begumpet, Warangal and Karimnagar railway stations.
At Begumpet, Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy , Rajya Sabha Member M. Anil Kumar Yadav, Alair MLA Beerla Ilaiah, South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Arn Kumar Jair and other dignitaries participated in the occasion.
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, participated through video link.
Speaking on the occasion held at Begumpet, Kishan Reddy stated that more than 01:00 PM railway stations across Indian Railways network were identified for redevelopment under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at single stretch, which is a record by Indian Railways. Out of these identified stations, works at 103 stations are completed and being inaugurated today by the Prime Minister.
He also stated that it is very happy moment for Telangana people that three stations Begumpet, Warangal and Karimnagar of Telangana are part of this inauguration.
In this context he said that, 40 railway stations are identified across Telangana region for redevelopment under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Talking about Begumpet station, he appreciated the importance given by Railways to the women empowerment by declaring the station as All Women station wherein all the day to day activities are managed by Lady staff. The modern amenities and facilities were developed at Begumpet Amrit station with the cost of Rs 26.55 crore which includes beautiful facade, entrance porch, 12-meter foot over Bridge, lifts and escalators, circulating area, waiting hall, signage boards.
He also stated that record budget allocation of Rs 5,337 Crore has been made to Telangana in this year, with which rail development activities are moving in a fast pace.
He also stated about the various rail development activities completed in Telangana region like installation of Kavach, construction of ROBs & RUBs, elimination of LC gates, provision of high-speed Wi-Fi etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Komatireddy Venkatreddy, expressed his happiness that three stations in Telangana -- Begumpet, Warangal and Karimnagar are being inaugurated today after redevelopment as Amrit Stations.
He also requested to speed up the MMTS Phase-II extension project upto Yadadri which will be helpful for suburban passengers travelling to Yadadri temple.
The Begumpet railway station has been redeveloped into a modern transit hub, reflecting the rich heritage of Telangana under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 26.55 crore.
In his welcome address, SCR GM, stated that, the development works for Begumpet, Warangal and Karimnagar were taken up with special focus and completed in scheduled time period. He also stated that a total 119 stations were identified across SCR jurisdiction for station redevelopment under Amrit Bharat station Scheme and works are progressing well, out of which 3 stations pertaining to Secunderabad Division are set for inauguration by the Prime Minister.
At Warangal, Union Minister of State of Heavy Industries and Steel Bhupatiraju Srinivasa Varma, Telangana Revenue, Information & Public Relations Minister and also Warangal District Incharge Minister Ponguleti Sreenivas Reddy, Telangana Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Dr Banda Prakash, Warangal Mayor Ms Gundu Sudha Rani, MPs Dr. Kadiyam Kavya, Eatala Rajender and Ms D K Aruna, SCR Additional General Manager Neeraj Agrawal and other dignitaries participated in the occasion.
At Karimnagar, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Telangana Transport Minister and Hyderabad District Incharge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and other dignitaries participated in the occasion.
