POSCO court sends Mumbai school female teacher to JC in sexual assault case

Mumbai, July 3 (UNI) A special POSCO court here today sent a female teacher from a renowned school in Central Mumbai to judicial custody for her alleged involvement in sexually assaulting a 17--year-old boy who was the student of the same school where the accused was teaching English.
Accused Bipasha Kumar was produced before the court after expiry of the police custody.
Upon production, police told the court that it has conducted various medical tests and are awaiting the report, an official said.
Bipasha Kumar is accused of sexually exploiting the victim between January 24, 2024, and February 28, 2025, by taking him to three hotels – J W Marriott in Juhu, President Hotel in Vile Parle and The Lalit Hotel, Sahar – and also in a car.
She allegedly consumed alcohol herself and gave it to the complainant before the sexual acts.
Police are now attempting to apprehend her friend, a doctor, who is believed to have aided her in the crime. The doctor has been residing in the United Kingdom (UK) since last Diwali.
The friend managed to convince the boy that he and the teacher were “made for teacher”, an official said.
The doctor friend told the minor that relationships between older women and teenage boys had “become quite common”. The female friend has also been booked in the case.
The doctor is accused of counselling the boy, who was under stress due to sexual exploitation, to persuade him to have physical relations with Bipasha Kumar, and providing him with Daxid 50mg tablets to relieve stress.
After seizing and verifying the accused teacher's mobile phone, police are now interrogating the management of J W Marriott, President Hotel and The Lalit Hotel to gather evidence.
Police are also investigating clothes and regular gifts given to the boy by the accused teacher, as well as meals at expensive places.
The Dadar Police have registered a case on June 28 under Sections 123, 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, along with Sections 4, 6, 17 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and Section 77 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
