Priority being given to police recruitment: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Sangli, May 23 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has asserted that to create an ideal police administration in the state, the number of police officers will be kept in accordance with the population. Therefore, 40,000 new police officers have been recruited through the Home Department and the government will continue to give priority to police recruitment in the state.
Fadnavis, who was speaking at the inauguration of three buildings constructed by the Sangli District Police Force and the groundbreaking ceremony of a residential building, said that the Police Housing Corporation has provided funds for police offices and police residences in the state.
Currently, 94,000 residences have been made available.
Stating that forensic vans will be made available in every district, he boasted that Maharashtra Police is the best in the country in solving cyber crimes. He also warned that if the police are found involved in the drug trafficking or business, they will be directly dismissed instead of suspended.
Fadnavis also said that the police department will continue to function in such a way that the common man of the state feels confident that no criminal will go free in the state from now on. He specially congratulated the Director General of Police and Managing Director Archana Tyagi of the Police Housing Corporation for constructing quality residences in the state.
