Pune Swargate Police arrest three in robbery case; Rs 24 Lakh worth of property seized

Pune, Oct 31 (UNI) Swargate policeon arrested three persons on Saturday for allegedly attempting to rob a businessman of Rs 5 lakh at Salisbury Park in Pune on September 23 and subsequently committing a robbery of Rs 30 lakh on Market Yard Road on October 7.
According to police, three unidentified persons had allegedly attacked the businessman with a sharp weapon near Golibaar Bhavan at Salisbury Park and attempted to snatch his bag containing Rs 5 lakh. The victim sustained injuries in the incident.
During the investigation, police examined around 300 to 350 CCTV footage recordings from various areas of the city and identified the suspects. The arrested accused have been identified as Yash Sonawane (24) and Nihal Adgale (19), along with another associate.
Police said the accused subsequently confessed to their alleged involvement in the robbery of Rs 30 lakh from a trader on Market Yard Road on October 7, along with three other accomplices.
Police have seized property worth approximately Rs 24 lakh, including a car, a Bullet motorcycle, mobile phones, gold and silver ornaments, watches and Rs 6.5 lakh in cash.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of senior police officials by a team led by Assistant Police Inspector Swapnil Shelke and Sub-Inspector Balu Shirsat.
