Punjab: Chugh Slams AAP and Congress in Ludhiana ahead of By-Elections

Ludhiana, Jun 6 (UNI) BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Friday castigated the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress for their "betrayal" of Punjab and "failure of governance".
Chugh said AAP sought votes in 2022 promising clean politics and an end to VIP culture. But the so-called “Mr Clean” Arvind Kejriwal was named prima facie as the main accused in the Delhi liquor scam. The one-time ‘anti-VIP’ leader now travels with a convoy of 100 vehicles for Vipassana in Punjab.
He said Kejriwal and his coterie of leaders, currently out on bail in serious corruption cases, have now captured Punjab and are "misusing" its resources. Kejriwal, despite being jailed while holding the post of Delhi CM, refused to resign. His bail was granted on the condition that he would not hold official meetings or visit the CM office.
Chugh said Bhagwant Mann, whom the people of Punjab trusted with their vote, has handed over the government to Kejriwal and his coterie of ‘on-bail’ leaders. Ironically, the same leaders are now heading the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign. The height of hypocrisy is that those accused of orchestrating a liquor scam in Delhi are now preaching against drugs in Punjab.
Highlighting the deteriorating law and order in Punjab, Chugh said grenade attacks, shootings, and public clashes are becoming a daily affair. Yet the CM is busy making insulting remarks about the sacrifices of India’s brave security forces and mocking the deaths of innocent civilians in Pahalgam.
Raising the issue of broken promises, Chugh said not a single major AAP poll promise has been fulfilled in three years. The promised job per household remains a dream as youth are migrating in large numbers. Not one farm loan has been waived. The Rs 1,000 monthly allowance promised to women remains undelivered even after 38 months.
Chugh asked Congress leaders Charanjit Channi, Amarinder Raja Warring, and Partap Bajwa when they would question their high command about their ties with the perpetrators of the 1984 Sikh pogrom. It was the BJP government under PM Modi that formed the SIT and ensured justice for the victims. While the Congress shielded its guilty leaders, it was the BJP’s double-engine government in Delhi that provided job security and dignity to the affected families, he said.
According to Chugh, AAP and Congress are two sides of the same coin — partners in Delhi, "pretending to be rivals" in Punjab. This "fake rivalry" is a "farce to mislead voters", but the people are now aware. UNI GS SSP
