Punjab cops arrest 4 men involved in mobile tower equipment thefts

Sangrur (Punjab), June 14 (UNI) The Sangrur police have arrested 4 members of an inter-state gang involved
in over 100 mobile tower equipment thefts in the state, SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal told media on Saturday, adding the suspects were arrested after a thorough investigation.
The accused were identified as Ramkaran Singh alias Laddi, Avtar Singh, Prem Singh, and Rupinder Singh alias Chinu. They were found to be involved in stealing valuable equipment from mobile towers and selling them. A car and 31 GCU1 cards were recovered from their possession.
The SSP revealed that the gang had committed similar thefts in various districts of Punjab, including Sangrur, Barnala, Bathinda, Moga, Mansa, Patiala, and Fatehgarh Sahib. The gang members used to work in mobile tower companies, which gave them an opportunity to steal valuable equipment.
The police investigation was led by Inspector Sandeep Singh, in-charge of CIA Sangrur, under the supervision of DSP Diljeet Singh Virk and SP Davinder Attri.
The accused have been booked under various sections , and further investigation is underway to uncover the entire network of the gang.
The police are also working to recover more stolen goods and identify other members of the gang. The SSP appreciated the efforts of the police team and said the police will continue to take strict action against such gangs involved in thefts and other crimes.
