Punjab govt launches unique initiative to resolve complaints of NRIs

Chandigarh, Jan 3 (UNI) The Punjab government has launched a first-of-its-kind initiative ‘Online
NRI Meeting’ across the country to resolve complaints of NRIs.
Under this service, the state government is resolving various complaints received by NRIs quickly and appropriately and efforts will be on for immediate resolution of complaints.
Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said he listened to more than 100 complaints of NRIs during the day and instructed the civil and police officers concerned to resolve them on the spot.
He said the complaints received were related to Punjabis living in America, Canada, England, Australia, Germany, Austria, Italy and Africa, which were related to property, illegal possession and marriage matters.
Dhaliwal saidthrough this unique service, the Punjab government will continuously resolve the complaints of NRIs. He said online meetings will be held in the first week of every month to hear the complaints of NRIs.
Dhaliwal said the DCs and SSPs of all districts have been asked to resolve the complaints of NRIs on priority basis. He said that orders have been issued to all the Deputy Commissioners to coordinate with various departments at the district level to resolve the issues of migrants. UNI GS SSP
