Rahul misleading people on condition of Karpoori hostels in Bihar: Samrat

Patna, June 13 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary on Friday criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for misleading people on the condition of Karpoori hostels in the state, saying all required facilities were being made available to students there.
Chaudhary said that all allegations levelled against the government by Gandhi for poor conditions of Karpoori hostels, were baseless. It was ridiculous that Congress party had sent Thakur to jail during emergency but
now its leader was talking about hostels named after him, he remarked.
" All dalits and backward students are being given monthly scholarship of Rs 4,000 ", Deputy Chief Minister said adding that a total amount of Rs 4,74,64,000 had been credited to accounts of dalit and backward students against scholarship for the financial year 2024-25. Foodgrains had also been distributed among them till March 2025, he further added.
" We always monitor the buildings of Karpoori hostels and it is wrong to say that its conditions are bad ", Chaudhary said adding that hostels were well equipped for teaching, having computers, libraries, smart classrooms, sanitary napkins, biometric devices besides other facilities. In the year 2025, Rs 321.68 lakhs had been allotted for whitewashing, water supply, maintenance and electrification of hostels, he added.
