Rao Inderjit flags Haryana power concerns, says Vij hopeful of positive decision

Panchkula, Oct 23 (UNI) union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation Rao Inderjit Singh, on Friday, acknowledged serious electricity problems in Haryana and said Energy Minister Anil Vij had expressed hope of a positive decision at 3 pm on concerns surrounding private power distribution arrangements in Gurugram and Nuh.
Speaking to reporters at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office, Singh said the issue had figured in discussions during the party's organisational consultations.
"There is no doubt that electricity is a major problem," he said, responding to a question about the situation in the state, particularly Gurugram.
Singh stated that both residents and electricity employees had concerns about the arrangements involving private companies in Gurugram and Nuh. He also referred to employees resorting to a strike.
"The issue was discussed, and Vij sahib expressed hope that some positive decision would emerge at 3 pm," he said.
On the organisational meetings, Singh said Smriti Irani was interacting with different sections of the Haryana BJP and that the discussions were intended to improve coordination within the party.
Former Haryana finance minister Capt. Abhimanyu, who also spoke to reporters, said such consultations were part of the BJP's practice of bringing workers together to discuss contemporary political and organisational issues.
"We meet with a sense of family and discuss different issues in different groups from time to time," he said.
Abhimanyu said the consultations sought to maintain ideological continuity between experienced workers and the younger generation, strengthen the organisation and keep party workers engaged in public service.
The discussions also covered ways to assign responsibilities to workers and enable them to contribute to nation-building and the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047, he said.
"Every worker should be given a responsibility and remain dedicated to serving the nation in some capacity," Abhimanyu said.
He said the organisational effort was to ensure that workers remained involved, contributed fully and continued to serve the public through their respective roles.
