RGU secures 13th rank, tops among Central varsities in Northeast in IIRF 2025 rankings

Itanagar, June 15 (UNI) Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh, has secured the 13th rank among all central universities in India in the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) 2025, emerging as the top-ranked central varsity in the Northeast region for the second consecutive year.
The IIRF ranking offers a comprehensive evaluation of higher education institutions across key parameters such as Teaching-Learning Resources, Research, Industry Income & Integration, Placement Performance, Placement Strategy & Support, Future Orientation, and External Perception & International Outlook.
The IIRF rankings placed RGU ahead of several notable regional peers. Neighbouring Assam’s Tezpur University was ranked 24th, followed by Mizoram University at 25th and Central Agricultural University (Manipur) at 26th.
This recognition adds to RGU’s recent achievements, including being awarded a prestigious ‘Grade A’ accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)—a clear reflection of the university’s robust academic standards, infrastructure, and governance.
RGU’s continued climb in national rankings highlights its growing reputation for academic excellence, innovation, and inclusive development. The university’s performance across key indices, including teaching quality, research productivity, industry interface, and student employability, has contributed to this national recognition.
Congratulating the RGU fraternity, Vice Chancellor Prof SK Nayak stated, “This is a moment of immense pride for all of us at Rajiv Gandhi University. With the dedicated people we have in our institution, we will continue to grow and reach new horizons. This achievement aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’.”
Registrar Dr N T Rikam also applauded the collective efforts, adding, “This success reflects the dedication of our students, faculty, and non-teaching staff. We also extend our gratitude to the State Government for their continued support.”
As RGU continues to rise in stature, it reaffirms its vision of becoming a center of academic excellence and innovation, contributing meaningfully to the educational and socio-economic development of Arunachal Pradesh, the Northeast region, and the nation at large.
