Rigorous efforts underway to launch new mines across Telangana: Singareni CMD

Hyderabad, June 3 (UNI) Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) N Balram on Tuesday made it clear that without new mines, areas like Yellandu, Manuguru and Bellampalli, will face an uncertain future.
Balram, who conducted a detailed review of present and future projects with Area GMs.
For the first time in the company’s history, at the company's headquarters in Kothagudem, urged proactive efforts to secure permissions—especially forest clearances—without any delay to facilitate the speedy commencement of new projects.
The review covered the current status of 12 area mines and the necessary strategies to implement future mining projects.
He stressed the need to focus on loss prevention in underground mines and announced the formation of a special committee to address losses in the prestigious Shanthikhani and Adriyala Longwall projects.
He instructed that employees must utilize their full work shifts with machinery, and those negligent in their duties may be removed if necessary.
He insisted that absenteeism must be significantly reduced and dealt with strictly.
During the review, the CMD also examined the status of coal production at Naini (Odisha) and called for smooth logistics and coal movement.
As part of improving coal quality, he suggested exploring the possibility of establishing a coal washery at Sathupalli.
The CMD emphasized the need for every Area General Manager to prepare concrete action plans for the development of the company.
He stressed the importance of focusing on production, quality, and coal transportation.
Balram, who met with all key stakeholders, including 762 manager level officers, SC/ST/BC liaison officers, and trade union leaders, conducted extensive, one-on-one reviews with Area GMs, providing strategic direction for the company's future.
He elaborated on the company’s expansion plans and the vital role Area GMs play in addressing current challenges.
He emphasized focused attention on coal production, safe and high-quality mining, and uninterrupted transportation.
He issued a stern warning that strict action would be taken against those who do not perform efficiently.
The meeting was attended by Director (E&M) D Satyanarayana Rao, Director (Operations) L V Suryanarayana, Director (Planning, Projects & Personnel) K Venkateshwarlu, Executive Director (Coal Movement) S D M Subhani, GM (CPP) A Manohar, along with Area General Managers and Corporate General Managers.
