Security is the foundation of development: T’gana Dy CM Bhatti Vikramarka

Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said that security is fundamental to the state’s development and praised the Telangana Special Protection Force (TGSPF) for safeguarding critical institutions and infrastructure across the State. He assured that the government would give priority to the welfare, professional development, training and working conditions of its personnel.
Speaking at the force’s 35th Raising Day celebrations on Friday, Bhatti Vikramarka said the TGSPF, established on October 23, 1991, had evolved into a specialised security organisation protecting 67 critical establishments, including the Secretariat, Legislative Assembly, High Court, Nagarjuna Sagar Project, major temples, government hospitals, power plants and key Central government institutions. Nearly 2,000 personnel were performing these duties.
Highlighting the force’s role in the power sector, the Deputy Chief Minister said security personnel were instrumental in protecting vital power generation facilities, including the Yadadri, Kothagudem and Bhadradri plants, ensuring uninterrupted electricity production. He noted that security had become increasingly complex with the integration of surveillance systems, drones, artificial intelligence and cyber technologies.
He stressed the need for continuous training, technical skills, alertness and quick response capabilities, pointing to the specialised training academy at Ameenpur. He said discipline, integrity, sound judgment and courteous public interaction were the true measures of an effective security force, which should inspire public confidence rather than fear.
Bhatti Vikramarka also acknowledged the sacrifices made by personnel and their families, who support them through demanding duties during festivals, holidays, nights and emergencies. He said the TGSPF’s motto, “Protection for Progress” (Pragatiki Rakshana), reflected its vital contribution to Telangana’s growth and prosperity.
Congratulating the officers and personnel on the occasion, he expressed confidence that the force would further strengthen its professionalism and dedication in protecting the State’s institutions, infrastructure and public trust.
