Sensex falls over 100  pts

Mumbai, May 16 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Friday declined 138 pts to open at 82,392.63 on profit booking amid a weak Asian market.

While the Nifty is at 25,064.65, rising 2 pts.

After yesterday's rally, stocks like technology, IT, and telecommunications were seen as weak, pushing the market in red in early trade today.

The Sensex registered intra-day highs and lows at 82,450.10 and 82,277.77 pts, respectively.

The Nifty registered a day's high at 25,065.25 and a low at 24,994.50 pts.

The mid cap gained 0.37 pc and the small cap by 0.37 pc.

In 30 scrips, 12 advanced while 18 declined.

The losers were Bharti Airtel by 2.41 pc to Rs 1821.90, SBI by 1.43 pc to Rs 796.15, IndusInd Bank by 1.32 pc to Rs 770 and Infosys by 1.04 pc to Rs 1596.55.

The gainers were Bajaj Finserv by 1.11 pc to Rs 2065, Eternal by 0.76 pc to Rs 244.25, Bajaj Finance by 0.95 pc to Rs 9275 and NTPC by 0.73 pc to Rs 344.45.
