Mumbai, May 21 (UNI) The BSE sensex on Wednesday surged 141 pts at 81,327.61 in opening trade on the strength of IT, Telecommunications and Realty stocks amid mixed global cues.
The Nifty rose by 61 pts at 24,744.25.
Breaking a negative trend of last three sessions, the BSE sensex gained following gains in IT, Realty stocks.
The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 81,451.18 pts and 81,327.61 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered days high at 24,766.15 and low at 24,707.65 pts.
The Mid cap fell by 0.17 pc and Small cap by 0.14 pc.
In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.
The gainers were Sun Pharma by 1.33 pc to Rs 1730.10, HDFC Bank by 0.71 pc to Rs 1928, Tech Mahindra by 0.52 pc to Rs 1583.35 and TCS by 0.48 pc to Rs 3515.
The losers were Eternal by 1.42 pc to Rs 225, IndusInd Bank by 0.79 pc to Rs 775.85, Adani Ports by 0.76 pc to Rs 1373.35 and NTPC by 0.53 pc to Rs 340.65.
