Mumbai, May 15 (UNI) Though the BSE Sensex on Thursday opened at 81,354.43, rising by 23 pts, it immediately went in the red as selling pressure was seen in FMCG, IT and Bankex stocks amid negative global cues.
At the moment, it was trading at 81,124, sliding 206 pts, while the Nifty was at 24,604.55, down 62.35 pts.
The Sensex registered intra-day highs and lows at 81,439.04 and 81,044.44 pts, respectively.
The Nifty registered a day's high at 24,706.75 and a low at 24,584.65 pts.
The mid cap gained 0.27 pc and the small cap by 0.44 pc.
In 30 scrips, 7 advanced , 22 declined, and one was unchanged.
The losers were Powergrid by 0.71 pc to Rs 293.95, Sun Pharma by 0.61 pc to Rs 1697.70, Kotak Bank by 0.60 pc to Rs 2079.95 and M&M by 0.54 pc to Rs 3085.05.
The gainers were Tata Motors by 0.62 pc to Rs 703.35, Adani Ports by 0.58 pc to Rs 1379, Tata Steel by 0.52 pc to Rs 156.10 and Tech Mahindra by 0.35 pc to Rs 1609.90.
