Sensex rises by 123.21 points

Mumbai, June 26 (UNI) The BSE Sensex today rose by 123.21 points to 82,878.17 in early trade, tracking mixed global market cues amid cautiousness over the fragile Israel-Iran ceasefire, traders said.

The Nifty too advanced by 113.10 pts to 25,152.45.

Sensex registered intra-day highs and lows at 82,916.92 and 82,816.26, respectively.

The Nifty registered a day's high at 25,293.65 and a low at 25,259.90 pts.

Midcap rose by 12.29 points, and small cap advanced by 165.65 pts.

All sectoral indices barring BSE IT, Realty and Bankex were down by 0.01 pc, 0.57 pc and 0.12 pc, respectively.

All other sectoral indices were trading in green, with BSE Telecom being the Top Intraday gainer up by 0.72 pc. Other gainers were Commodities by 0.26 pc, Energy by 0.10 pc, FMCG by 0.25 pc, Financial by 0.03 pc, Health care by 0.24 pc , Industrial by 0.50 pc, Utilities by 0.31 pc, Auto by 0.37 pc, Capital Goods by 0.57 pc, Consumer Durables by 0.38 pc, Metals by 0.46 pc , Oil & gas by 0.17 6 pc, Power by 0.22 pc and Teck by 0.15 pc.

Sensex gainers were BEL by 1.44 pc to Rs 411.60, Tata steel by 1.28 pc to Rs 158.00, Bajaj Finance by 1.14 pc to Rs 938.80, Bharti Airtel by 1.09 pc to Rs 1,987.00 and Eternal by 1.08 pc to Rs 261.60.

Sensex losers were Tech Mahindra by 0.55 pc to Rs 1,694.95, Kotak Bank by 0.40 pc to Rs 2,187.85, Trent by 0.22 pc to Rs 6,115.80, SBIN by 0.16 pc to Rs 798.50 and Reliance by 0.07 pc to Rs 1,466.15.

The currency opened 15 paise higher at 85.92 against the dollar. It closed the previous session at 86.07
The partially convertible rupee recorded intra-day high and low at 85.63 and 85.93 respectively, dealers added.
