Sensex up by 90.29 points

Mumbai, June 18 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday rose by 90.29 points to 81,673.59 in early trade as buying was seen in Realty, Auto, Oil & Gas and IT shares.

The Nifty too advanced by 40.35 pts to 24,893.00.

Sensex registered intra-day highs and lows at 81,704.91 and 81,304.10, respectively.

The Nifty registered a day's high at 24,896.10 and a low at 24,776.90 pts.

Midcap advanced by 11.13 points, and small cap fell by 138.59 pts.

Sectoral gainers were IT by 0.15 pc, auto by 0.20, oil & gas by 0.04 pc, realty by 0.32 pc and tech by 0.05 pc.

Sectoral losers were energy by 0.01 pc, FMCG by 0.19 pc, financial by 0.25 pc, healthcare by 0.23 pc, industrial by 0.46 pc.

Telecom by 0.63 pc, Utilities by 0.64 pc, Bankex by 0.12 pc, Capital Goods by 0.30 pc, Consumer Durables by 0.13 pc and Power by 0.57 pc

Sensex gainers were Indus Bank by 3.10 pc to Rs 834.90, M&M by 0.72 pc to Rs 3,029.55, Maruti by 0.63 pc to Rs 12,676.00, HCL Tech by 0.60 pc to Rs 1,740.00 and Titan by 0.52 pc to Rs 3,423.00.

Sensex losers were Kotak Bank by 0.74 pc to Rs 2,120.90, Power Grid by 0.57 to Rs 286.95, NTPC by 0.40 pc to Rs 334.00, HDFC Bank by 0.24 pc tp Rs 1,924.90 and Bajaj Finance by 0.22 pc to Rs 920.90.

Rupee drops by 24 paise to 86 48 against US dollar
