Sensitive issues should not be turned into political mockery: Samrat

Patna, Sept 20 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary had a piece of advice for Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday saying that sensitive issues, including matters concerning someone's mother, should not be turned into subjects of political mockery as political discourse should maintain dignity and decorum.
In a post on social media platform X, Choudhary said, "At a 'Students' Echo' event recently, which he described as an 'Echo of Lies' platform in Indore, Rahul Gandhi once again made fun of an elderly woman."
The Chief Minister said differences are natural in politics, but political dialogue should remain dignified and respectful. He said making sensitive issues and personal matters the subject of political ridicule is not in keeping with the dignity of democratic discourse.
Choudhary said political differences should be debated through issues, ideas and policies rather than being reduced to personal mockery and bitterness.
Rahul Gandhi had interacted with students and young people at the 'Students' Echo' programme held in Indore on September 19.
