Shimla development gains momentum in line with people's demands: Harish Janartha

Shimla, October 8 (UNI) Shimla Urban MLA Harish Janartha on Thursday said development works in the city were being expedited in accordance with the long-standing demands and requirements of the people.
Janartha said several newly constructed parking facilities, complexes and other development projects had been completed and were being dedicated to the public.
He said giving priority to the demands of the people and taking development works to the ground had remained his priority.
These important projects were inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday, he said.
Detailed information regarding the development works, including the expenditure incurred on them, was also shared during the inauguration programme, Janartha said.
The MLA expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhu for ensuring completion of the public-oriented projects and for providing the necessary support and budget for the development of Shimla.

Himachal HC awards 7 5 pc interest to landowners over delayed NH compensation

Shimla, October 8 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh High Court has directed the authorities to pay interest at 7.5 per cent per annum to two landowners on compensation for land acquired for the construction and four-laning of National Highway-72 between Paonta Sahib and Ballupur in Sirmaur district, holding that the compensation amount was deposited a year after the award.
