Skills-based hiring drive draws youth in Sambhaji Nagar

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, June 27 (UNI) Maharashtra's Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha today urged young job seekers to capitalise on skill-based employment opportunities.
Addressing the inauguration of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Employment Fair, held at Chhatrapati Shahu Engineering College in Kanchanwadi, Minister Lodha emphasised leveraging acquired competencies for self-empowerment. "Utilize these openings aligned with your training to forge your employment pathways," he added.
The employment fair connected trained youth with major employers across the region, and was jointly organised by the District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Centre and the host college. Attendees included Deputy Commissioner Vidya Shitule, College President Ranjit Maule, Principal Dr. Ganesh Dongre, and Assistant Guidance Commissioner SRS Varde.
Lodha highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foundational role in institutionalizing skill development nationally.
"The government now systematically prepares skilled manpower through ITIs and industry partnerships, delivering youth trained precisely to industrial specifications," he stated.
Principal Dr. Dongre outlined skill courses offered by the college during the programme introduced by Shitule and concluded by Varde.
Twenty-six prominent companies participated, offering 1,283 vacancies across diverse sectors.
Participating firms included Herman Funochem, Dhoot Transmission, Osborne Lippert, Alankar Engineering, Tower Mechanic, BG Lin Electronics, Varun Beverages, Auto Antiques, Ajanta Pharma, King Food Tech, Meenakshi Agro, Hindustan Composite, Amasans Auto Comp, OMR Bagla, Forest Engineering, Team Plus HR Services, TK Precision, Flipkart Wholesale, Medhavi Aspire, Sai Supreme, Artha Engineering, Virok Engineering, Endurance Technology, BG Electricals, Ajit Seeds, and Ankor Healthcare.
Selection will be based strictly on applicants' qualifications and demonstrated skills, aligning with the state's dual objective of securing quality employment for youth and enhancing national development through skilled workforce participation.
