Social boycott should be imposed on Hagavane family for death of Vaishnavi: BJP's Khardekar

Pune, May 23 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party state spokesperson Sandeep Khardekar said here on Friday that looking at the injuries on Vaishnavi Hagavane's body, there is a suspicion that it was murder and not a suicide and demanded that police should investigate this matter thoroughly.
Vaishnavi, the daughter-in-law of Rajendra Hagawane, who is associated with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Ajit Pawar, allegedly died under mysterious circumstances, in an alleged dowry case.
Khardekar also demanded that action should be taken against the police officers who were lax in taking action despite the complaint of the elder daughter-in-law Mayuri.

Khardekar has demanded a statement from the Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The BJP Spokesperson said due to the lack of proper action on the complaint of the elder daughter-in-law, the public have doubts of the local police. He requested that the Chief Minister hand over the case of Vaishnavi Suicide to the CID or some other investigating agency .
He said that If we want to pay true tribute not only to Vaishnavi or Mayuri but to all the sisters who committed suicide due to in-laws' torture in this way, then the best punishment would be to impose a social boycott on the accused family.
Khardekar also appealed to the citizens, villagers, and relatives in the vicinity of their residence to use the weapon of boycott against those who commit such cruel acts.
Khardekar said that all efforts should be made to ensure that "all the murderers of the Hagavane family" get the strictest punishment and that the case be tried in a fast-track court.
