Son sets mother ablaze over financial dispute in Warangal

Warangal, June 28 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a man allegedly set his mother on fire following a dispute over money at Kuntapalli village in Sangam Mandal of Warangal district on Saturday.
According to police, the accused, M Satish, had a heated argument with his 60-year-old mother, Vinoda, during the early hours of the day. In a fit of rage, Satish allegedly poured petrol on her and set her ablaze. Hearing her screams, he reportedly jumped over the compound wall and fled the scene.
Residents rushed to her aid and immediately shifted the severely injured woman to MGM Hospital in Warangal. Doctors confirmed that she sustained 80 per cent burn injuries and her condition remains critical.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, police added.
