Union Minister Bandi Sanjay pays tributes to PVNR; slams Cong and BRS for neglecting his legacy

Hyderabad, June 28 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar today paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao (PVNR) on his birth anniversary, describing him as a towering statesman and a shining symbol of Telugu intellect and simplicity.
In a statement issued in Hyderabad, Bandi Sanjay hailed PV as a humble leader who began his career as a journalist and rose to become the only Telugu person to serve as Prime Minister.
“He donated his own land to the poor, spearheaded land reforms, and laid the foundation for India’s economic revival during a time of crisis,” he noted.
The Union Minister strongly criticised both Congress and BRS for ignoring PV’s contributions. “Congress insulted PV by not conducting his funeral properly, and BRS used his name during elections only to abandon it later,” he said.
He expressed regret that key memorial projects announced in PV’s honour — such as the PV Jnana Vedika, Dhyana Mandir, and a statue at his birthplace — remain incomplete, even 18 months after the Congress government came to power in Telangana.
Calling PV a “modern-day Chanakya” of Indian politics and a proud son of Telangana, Bandi Sanjay urged the state government to expedite the completion of the long-pending projects in tribute to the legendary leader.
