Sunetra Pawar takes indirect swipe at Rohit Pawar, says no rift in Mahayuti

Nanded, Oct 18 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar took an indirect swipe at NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar over his remarks on the investigation into the death of late Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and the allocation of the Finance portfolio, commenting that some people were adept at spreading misinformation.
Rohit Pawar had in a statement on Saturday claimed that the finance portfolio held by the late Ajit Pawar, would not be allocated to Sunetra Pawar as Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis wanted to keep it with the BJP.
Dismissing speculation about differences within the ruling Mahayuti alliance, Sunetra Pawar said it remained united despite its constituent parties having different ideologies.
"There are no differences within the Mahayuti. Different parties may have different ideologies, but when we stand as the Mahayuti, we are united. Everyone must work together with collective strength and maintain coordination. Any misunderstandings should be resolved through discussions," she said.
Addressing a gathering in Nanded while campaigning for Mahayuti candidate Satish Chavan in the Legislative Council graduates' constituency election, she said the alliance was committed to developing Marathwada, including Nanded.
As a daughter of Marathwada, I give you my word that we are committed to the region's development. We need your continued support and must reach out to voters. Nanded district has an important role to play, she said, appealing to alliance workers to work together.
Sunetra Pawar said the leaders had united to fulfil the aspirations of the youth and campaign for Chavan, whom she described as an experienced and dynamic leader deserving another term in the Legislative Council.
Recalling Ajit Pawar's association with Chavan, she said the late leader had called him in 2007 and encouraged him to contest an election.
She expressed confidence that Chavan would receive strong support for a fourth term, citing voter enthusiasm in Beed and Nanded for the graduates' constituency election.
Chavan, she said, had consistently raised issues forcefully in the Legislative Council and should be returned to the House with the Mahayuti's collective strength.
Meanwhile, state minister Girish Mahajan criticised Rohit Pawar for his remarks over the allocation of the Finance portfolio and the investigation into Ajit Pawar's death.
"Instead of looking at our party or interfering in other matters, he should concentrate on his own party. If he does that, his party may win two to four additional seats in the coming elections," Mahajan said.
