Surya joins Tharoor-led delegation to Americas, Chowta heads to Europe

Bengaluru, May 18 (UNI) In a significant diplomatic outreach, BJP MPs Tejasvi Surya and Captain Brijesh Chowta from Karnataka will represent India in two separate high-level, multi-party parliamentary delegations travelling to various parts of the world to present India’s united stand against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

The outreach, part of a strategic initiative launched by Narendra Modi Government, will see seven delegations comprising members of Parliament and retired diplomats visiting 32 countries and the European Union. The mission aims to convey India’s firm message against cross-border terrorism and assert its right to respond decisively to such threats.

Tejasvi Surya, MP from Bengaluru South, will be part of the delegation led by Congress MP Dr Shashi Tharoor to the United States and Latin America. The visit will take place from May 23 to June 6.

"Will be joining Dr Shashi Tharoor in the Indian delegation of MPs to the Americas. We will take to the world India’s message against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and our demonstrated determination to put an end to it," Surya said, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju.

Referring to India's recent military action, Surya added, "Operation Sindoor signified a precise, measured and morally justified response to Pakistan-backed terrorism. The operation has become a global call for justice, and through this visit, MPs from across party lines will unitedly highlight India's stance in combating terror."

Meanwhile, Mangaluru MP Captain Chowta will be part of a separate delegation visiting Russia, Spain, Greece, Slovenia and Latvia. The group, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi, includes five MPs and two senior bureaucrats and will be briefed by the Foreign Secretary and External Affairs Minister before departure.

Speaking ahead of the tour, Captain Chowta said, "This is my first opportunity to represent Bharat at a world forum. I feel honoured and privileged to brief on Operation Sindoor. I consider it my duty to expose Pakistan’s role in spreading terror and to showcase India's mature and responsible response to such threats."

He added that India, under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, had empowered its armed forces to operate with strategic independence.

"India is leading the global fight against terrorism. We will carry forward the Prime Minister's vision of 'One Bharat, One Mission, One Message' to the global community," he affirmed.

This unprecedented diplomatic campaign highlights the Modi Government's commitment to building a global coalition against terrorism and reinforcing India's position as a leading voice in international security and counter-terrorism efforts.
