T'gana CM Revanth gave MLC opportunities to BCs without elections: Mallu Ravi

Hyderabad, Oct 1 (UNI) TPCC Disciplinary Committee Chairman and MP Mallu Ravi said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had ensured representation to different social groups while giving opportunities to young leaders in the Congress.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Ravi said the two MLC seats under the MLA quota that fell vacant earlier were given to Mahesh Kumar Goud and Balmuri Venkat. In the subsequent round, Addanki Dayakar (SC), Shankar Naik (ST) and Vijayashanti (BC) were nominated, while no seat was allotted to the Reddy community, he said.
He said the two Governor-quota MLC seats were given to minority leader Mohammed Azharuddin and Telangana movement leader Kodandaram, while Anil Kumar Yadav was given a Rajya Sabha seat.
Ravi said Revanth Reddy had been encouraging younger-generation leaders and cited Balmuri Venkat, Anil Kumar Yadav and Sama Rammohan Reddy as examples. He said Sama Rammohan Reddy had now been given an opportunity as a Graduate MLC candidate and called upon party workers to work hard to win the two Graduate MLC seats.
Ravi also said the Chief Minister had ensured opportunities for BC leaders through the MLA quota without requiring them to face an election contest.
