Telangana CM unveils Basaveshwara statue, vows all-round development in Sangareddy district

Sangareddy (Telangana) May 23 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday visited Zaheerabad in Sangareddy district, where he unveiled the statue of Sri Viswaguru Basaveshwara Maharaj at Huggelli village in Zaheerabad mandal in this district on Friday.
The Chief Minister hailed Basaveshwara’s contributions to social justice and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to implementing welfare schemes in the spirit of Basavanna.
Accompanied by Ministers Konda Surekha and Damodar Rajanarsimha, Government Advisor Shabbir Ali, MP Suresh Shetkar, MLAs, Corporation Chairman, and senior officials, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the new building of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Machnur, Jharasangam mandal. He congratulated students and teachers on the occasion.
Speaking at a public meeting in Zaheerabad, Revanth Reddy recalled the deep connection between former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the Medak region. “Indiramma remained Medak MP till her last breath. Her legacy in this region is everlasting,” he said.
Highlighting the developmental initiatives under the Congress government, he announced that Hyundai Car Manufacturing Company would soon commence operations in the region. He also declared that 5,612 families affected by the NIMZ project would be granted Indiramma houses, with MLA Jagga Reddy tasked with overseeing implementation.
Revanth Reddy assured that the government would allocate the required funds for the development of Zaheerabad and Narayankhed constituencies, describing leaders like Suresh Shetkar and Sanjeeva Reddy as the "eyes of Narayankhed."
Outlining key welfare measures, he said the government had waived off farmers' loans, enhanced Rhythu Bharosa to Rs 12,000, and extended it to landless poor.
Additionally, 200 units of free electricity are being provided to the poor, along with LPG cylinders at Rs 500, free RTC bus travel for women, and support for girls' financial empowerment.
“We are moving ahead with the goal of making one crore women millionaires in the next five years,” he said. Taking a swipe at the previous administration, he added, “He who promised a job for every household only gave jobs on his own.”
Revanth Reddy affirmed that the public government had begun filling vacant government positions immediately after coming to power. He also promised continuous engagement with the Central Government for securing development funds for Telangana.
The Chief Minister said , “Win or lose, I am always with the people. I will not rest until I develop the state and dedicate it to them,” he added.
