Telangana ensures smooth fertiliser supply during Kharif: Tummala

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the state successfully ensured fertiliser availability during the Kharif 2026 season through advance stocking, faster transportation and app-based monitoring.
In a statement, he said 33.39 lakh farmers registered for fertilisers through the app, booking 142.08 lakh bags, of which 128.18 lakh bags had been purchased. Through the Central Government's FFS app, 37.48 lakh QR codes were generated and 141.88 lakh bags were booked, with farmers purchasing 104.99 lakh bags.
Tummala said digital monitoring helped curb illegal hoarding and black marketing. Current stocks include 2.33 lakh metric tonnes of urea, 0.39 lakh tonnes of DAP, 2.72 lakh tonnes of complex fertilisers, 0.36 lakh tonnes of MOP and 0.18 lakh tonnes of SSP. Urea stocks are significantly higher than the 0.50 lakh tonnes available during the corresponding period last year.
For October, the state has planned to receive 2 lakh metric tonnes of urea, including 0.87 lakh tonnes from domestic production and 1.13 lakh tonnes through imports. A supply plan of 0.30 lakh tonnes of DAP has also been made.
The Minister said 75.9 per cent of the digital crop survey for Kharif 2026-27 had been completed, covering 1.47 crore of the 1.93 crore agricultural plots identified for the survey. He said the digital crop data would eventually be used to implement schemes related to crop procurement, farm mechanisation and subsidised seed distribution.
