Telangana: Four women killed, 15 injured as bus overturns on Ananthagiri Ghat road

Vikarabad, Oct 3 (UNI) Four women were killed and several others injured when a private bus carrying 54 people overturned on the Ananthagiri Ghat road in Vikarabad district on Saturday, police said.
The bus was carrying passengers from Kesaram near Patancheru in Sangareddy district to Chintakunta in Dharur mandal to attend a funeral.
The accident occurred while the bus was descending the Ananthagiri Hills when it reportedly veered off the road and overturned.
Vikarabad District Collector Deepak Tiwari inspected the accident site and directed officials to undertake immediate relief measures.
The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed grief over the accident and conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased.
The Governor directed authorities to provide emergency medical services and the best possible treatment to the injured.
The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju to ensure advanced medical care for the injured.
Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu visited the injured at the hospital and consoled the families of the victims.
He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh each to those seriously injured.
Sridhar Babu said a case had been registered against the bus management and the driver and action would be taken against those responsible after collecting complete details.
