Telangana Govt to introduce stricter anti-piracy measures for film industry: FDC Chairman

Hyderabad, July 3 (UNI) The Telangana government is taking decisive steps to curb piracy and strengthen the state’s film industry, said Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman Dil Raju.

Addressing a press conference at the FDC office in Masab Tank today, Dil Raju revealed that, under the direction of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, several meetings have already been held with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to address key issues facing the film industry.

He said that a comprehensive action plan is being prepared, and new regulations will be brought in if needed.

"The FDC will serve as the nodal agency for these efforts. A special committee will be formed, comprising members from the Film Chamber of Commerce, Cyber Cell, and Police Department,
to oversee online shooting permissions and enforce strong anti-piracy initiatives,” he said.

Dil Raju reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the industry’s growth and urged all stakeholders to collaborate in protecting the interests of the sector.

FDC MD Ch Priyanka added that the matter of accreditation for film journalists is currently under review and a decision will be taken based on feasibility.
She also assured that any concerns raised by industry members will be addressed with sincerity and urgency.

The announcement comes amid renewed calls from the Telugu film industry for stringent action against piracy and improved regulatory support from the government.
