Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar urges vigilance, assures Hyderabad citizens after Operation Sindhur success

Hyderabad, May 7 (UNI) Telangana Transport and Hyderabad In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed pride in the Indian Armed Forces following the successful completion of Operation Sindhur, stating "Jai Hind.

We are proud of our armed forces." He reassured the people of Hyderabad that there is no need to worry about the current situation on the country's borders.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, Minister Prabhakar emphasised that the Telangana State Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is taking all necessary steps to ensure public safety and security.

He urged citizens to remain calm but vigilant, and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police officials immediately.

As part of preparedness measures, a mock drill is scheduled to be conducted at 1600 hours in Secunderabad Cantonment, Kanchan Bagh, and Nanal Nagar.

The Minister noted that all efforts are being made to fortify the city through coordinated actions in and around the cantonment areas.

He stated that no one needs to panic and encouraged citizens to remain courageous and cooperative. "We fully support every step being taken by the Telangana Government and the Congress Party to safeguard national sovereignty—whether it concerns internal affairs or border security," he said.

Minister Prabhakar added that the central Congress leadership has also resolved that the government must act firmly on matters of internal security. Regular reviews are being conducted with Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand and other senior officials, including the Hyderabad District Collector, to monitor the situation and respond promptly.

A review meeting was held earlier today where Minister Prabhakar met with district administration and police officials to assess readiness. He advised the public to remain vigilant and directed the police to maintain heightened alertness at all times to prevent any untoward incidents.

If anything unusual is observed, the Minister appeals to the public to promptly inform the police so that swift action can be taken. "Our priority is to ensure that the people of Hyderabad remain safe and do not face any inconvenience," he added.
