Telangana Police to launch ‘Fit Cop’ App to monitor health of 90,000 personnel

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) The Telangana Police Department is set to launch ‘TG Fit Cop’, an app-based health management initiative to monitor and improve the physical and mental well-being of over 90,000 police personnel across the State.
Director General of Police C V Anand said on Friday that police personnel, due to demanding duties and work-related stress, often neglect their health. The initiative, being developed with the support of the Helping Hand Foundation and other organisations, is expected to be implemented within the next 30 to 45 days.
The mobile application will collect health details, including diabetes, hypertension, Body Mass Index (BMI), existing medical conditions, lifestyle habits, physical activity, smoking and alcohol consumption. Based on the data, personnel will be classified into low-, moderate- and high-risk categories to facilitate timely medical intervention.
Helping Hand Foundation founder Salman said a dedicated call centre would contact personnel based on their health risk levels and facilitate medical tests, hospital treatment, health guidance and counselling wherever required.
The initiative aims to identify potential health complications, particularly kidney-related ailments, diabetes and hypertension, at an early stage and promote preventive healthcare. It will be extended to all units and wings of the Telangana Police.
Anand expressed hope that Fit Cop would become an effective institutional mechanism for safeguarding the health and overall well-being of police personnel.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar, ADG Akun Sabharwal, IGP Gajarao Bhupal, retired IPS officer and Secretary of Arogya Bhadratha and Bhadratha Uday Kumar Reddy, T-SPARK SP Rupesh, SP Avinash and other senior police officials attended the meeting, a release from the DGP’s office said.
