Telangana Revenue system undergoes major reforms: Minister Ponguleti

Hyderabad, Jun 21 (UNI) Telangana Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said on Saturday that the revenue administration, which deteriorated significantly during the previous BRS regime, is now being comprehensively reformed under the Congress-led government.

Speaking at the review meeting held at secretariat on Saturday, the Minister emphasised that the newly introduced Bhu-Bharati Act is being implemented with full vigor to provide a lasting solution to long-standing land disputes.

He said the Act, which replaced the ROR Act of 2020, demonstrates the government’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance and has already brought notable improvements in revenue operations.

The Minister highlighted the success of the Revenue Sadassulu, conducted across the state in three phases, which exposed the severe challenges farmers have faced over the past decade. More than 10 lakh applications related to land issues were received through these public grievance meetings.

The Bhu-Bharati Act was formally launched on April 14 by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. During the first phase (April 17–30), 12,000 applications were received through 72 Sadassulu across 4 mandals. In the second phase starting May 5, over 46,000 applications were collected from 414 meetings across 28 mandals. The third phase, held from June 3 to 20, covered 10,239 villages in 561 mandals and yielded 8 lakh applications.

In total, 10,725 Revenue Sadassulu were conducted in 593 mandals, receiving 8.58 lakh applications. The Minister noted that over 60% of grievances have already been resolved, excluding pending Sadabainama cases.

Khammam district led in application volume with 67,000, followed by Bhadradri Kothagudem (61,000), Warangal (54,000), Jayashankar Bhupalapally (48,000), and Nalgonda (42,000).

To facilitate the process, application forms were distributed free of cost in villages a day before each Sadassu. MRO-supervised teams collected submissions directly from the public and issued receipts. So far, 3.27 lakh applications have been registered online, and officials have been instructed to expedite the registration of the remaining applications.

The Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to resolving land-related issues swiftly and transparently, bringing long-awaited relief to farmers across Telangana, an official statement said.
