Nizamabad (Telangana), May 17 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud asserted that Telangana has emerged as a role model for the entire nation under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his team.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, he strongly criticised the internal rift within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), highlighting an ongoing three-way power struggle between Kavitha,
KTR, and Harish Rao.
"KCR has now been confined to his farmhouse, a clear indication of the crumbling leadership in BRS," Goud said.
He predicted that BRS would become politically irrelevant by the next elections.
Speaking on national politics, Goud condemned the BJP for gaining political mileage by invoking religion and took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the controversial Operation Sindoor, saying it showcased the PM's obsession with power.
He also raised questions about the lack of transparency from the Centre on the recent India-Pakistan conflict, questioning what the nation gained or lost through the war.
Goud emphasised the Congress party’s commitment to governance based on public opinion and fulfilling electoral promises. "Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made history by conducting a caste survey inspired by Rahul Gandhi’s vision.
Telangana is leading the way nationally in inclusive and data-driven governance," he said.
He also highlighted the Congress government's landmark decision to provide 42 per cent
reservation to Backward Classes (BCs).
He announced several internal initiatives within the Congress party aimed at strengthening its structure and preparing for future challenges. These include the formation of an Advisory Council Committee, Political Affairs Committees for day-to-day strategy, a Samvidhan Bachao Committee
to safeguard constitutional values, and a Delimitation Committee in anticipation of the 2026 redistricting.
Referring to malicious social media campaigns, Goud accused both BJP and BRS leaders of spreading false propaganda, particularly targeting Minister Konda Surekha.
He revealed that a cybercrime complaint is being filed over the distortion of her remarks.
“We are studying legal models like Madhya Pradesh to bring a law curbing fake propaganda on
social media,” he added.
Dismissing rumours about a leadership change in Telangana as a “fabricated conspiracy of the opposition,” he affirmed the government’s ongoing initiatives—ranging from distributing fine rice through free buses to revamping education and healthcare sectors.
The TPCC chief proudly announced that over 65,000 government jobs have been provided in just
the first year of Congress rule.
Healthcare services, including primary centers and institutions like NIMS, are being strengthened following the neglect during a decade of BRS governance.
“Telangana is not just progressing—it’s showing the way forward for the country,” Goud added.
