Bhubaneswar, June 28 (UNI) In a tragic incident today, three young women were killed in a road accident near Pipli, about 25 km from here.
Sources said the three women were on their way to Puri to witness the Car Festival when the mishap occurred near the Pipli overbridge.
They were reportedly run over by an Ama Bus after falling onto the road when their two-wheeler collided with the overbridge railing.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief over the loss of the three young lives in the accident.
Extending his condolences to the bereaved families, Majhi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the next of kin of each deceased.
The deceased, all around 20 years old, have been identified as Rimjhim Priyadarshini Sahoo of Bhubaneswar, and Elina Das and Kajal Das from the Rajkanika area in Kendrapara district.
