Hyderabad, May 24 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud launched a sharp counterattack on BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR), accusing him of making baseless allegations against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Talking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Goud said, “It's as if KTR has been possessed by the ghost of power,” Goud said, adding, “Even Kavitha indirectly suggested that
the ghost haunting KCR has now taken over KTR.”
He claimed that KTR has gone “crazy” over Kavitha’s letter and is reacting with rage after notices were issued to KCR and Harish Rao in connection with the Kaleshwaram scam.
Goud mocked KTR’s stance on corruption, stating, “When KTR talks about corruption, it sounds like he’s reciting Vedas while possessed by a ghost.”
He predicted a split within the BRS, saying, “In the three-piece fight of BRS, one piece — Kavitha — is sure to separate.”
He further alleged that the BRS and BJP were working hand in glove, citing recent gestures of sympathy and praise for KCR by BJP leaders. “What more proof do we need of the BJP-BRS alliance?” Goud questioned. “People know who held whose feet during the past ten years to
shield family members from corruption cases.”
Referring to the National Herald case, Goud dismissed it as a politically motivated move by the BJP.
“How is it corruption if a party funds its own newspaper?” he asked, contrasting it with alleged massive scams in Kaleshwaram, Medigadda, and other deals under the previous BRS
government.
Joining the criticism, Telangana BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar questioned KTR’s silence
on explosive statements made by his sister Kavitha.
“Before KTR questions the Congress, he should respond to Kavitha’s claim that ‘KCR God has gathered demons around him.’ Who are those demons?” he asked.
Ponnam also raised doubts over whether Kavitha’s press meetings and letters were deliberately leaked.
“Was it KTR who asked Kavitha to resurface in the media? These are questions KTR must answer before pointing fingers at the Congress,” he said.
Both leaders made it clear that the Congress would not entertain baseless accusations and challenged KTR to answer internal questions plaguing his own party before attacking others.
